Beware the Moonlight #Candlelight-Writers Prompts
A full moon in the sky spells trouble for anyone around this person...
Just hope that you're miles away for the beast within that man is bursting out – full-on primal instincts – ravenously hungry because its human form doesn't sustain enough food for the agonising transformation.
It is a terrifying monster, one that sends birds fluttering into the skies, fearful for their lives...
The beast – this werewolf – no longer differentiates friend from foe. No. All it sees is its next meal.
But once the moon descends from the sky and the sun takes its place... the human dominates again and wonders what horror they brought that night.
A curse that cannot be dealt with this time.
But remember that conventional means can and will occasionally be broken.
There is nothing wrong with challenging perspectives and narrative technique. Streams-of-consiousness or even colloquial approaches are included in that form of experimentation.
It might come as a surprise to you that there are published stories out in the world that actually have a laid-back chatty feel to their narratives. (Not comparing this piece of mine to them, it's just an example to prove that nothing has to be to a strict form...) Terry Pratchett is an incredible author and I'd go as far as to say that his narratives are mastered forms of rambling xD.
There is nothing wrong with colloqial, conversational-style pieces.
You've made your point now, I've made mine. I appreciate you taking the time to read and form your own opinions, though.
FYI, this, incidentally, is not one of my favourite pieces but it doesn't mean that it's not a form of art in its own right.
